Il Ca’ Foscari Short Film Festival è più vivo che mai e tornerà per la sua undicesima edizione dal 6 al 9 ottobre 2021 nuovamente in forma diffusa, riabbracciando finalmente il pubblico all’Auditorium Santa Margherita di Venezia, da sempre luogo di riferimento del festival, e le prestigiose sedi culturali partner.
Dopo aver dovuto rinunciare alla sua classica collocazione primaverile a causa dell’emergenza pandemica, si svolgerà dunque come lo scorso anno in ottobre il primo festival in Europa interamente concepito, organizzato e gestito da un’università, sempre guidato dal direttore artistico e organizzativo Roberta Novielli. Lo Short continua a promuovere la sua immagine di festival pensato da e per i giovani, dove, insieme a un consolidato gruppo di professionisti, gli studenti cafoscarini contribuiscono alla realizzazione dell’evento in tutte le sue fasi. Sono giovani anche i protagonisti del cuore pulsante della manifestazione, il Concorso Internazionale, dedicato a cortometraggi realizzati all’interno di università e scuole di cinema di tutto il mondo. Da questo punto di vista il festival è diventato negli anni una importante vetrina internazionale per registi emergenti, come testimonia anche l’entusiasta partecipazione alla preselezione che ha registrato oltre 2500 cortometraggi provenienti da più di cento paesi differenti. Ad affiancare i 30 cortometraggi finalisti ci sarà come sempre una ricca programmazione fatta di programmi speciali, masterclass, focus e omaggi.

Ca' Foscari Short Film Festival is more alive than ever and will return for its eleventh edition from 6th to 9th October 2021, once again in a widespread format, finally embracing the public at the Auditorium Santa Margherita in Venice - which has always been the festival's reference point - and at its prestigious cultural partners’ venues.
After giving up its classic spring schedule due to the pandemic emergency, the first festival in Europe entirely conceived, organised and managed by a university will take place in October, as it did last year, and will still be led by the artistic and organisational director Roberta Novielli. Short continues to promote its image as a festival conceived by and for young people, where, together with a well established group of professionals, Ca’ Foscari students contribute to the implementation of the event in all its phases. Young people are also the protagonists of the core of the event, the International Competition, dedicated to short films made at universities and film schools all over the world. From this standpoint, over the years, the festival has become an important international showcase for emerging directors, as demonstrated by the enthusiastic participation in the pre-selection, which registered over 2500 short films from more than a hundred different countries. Alongside the 30 short film finalists there will be, as always, a rich agenda of special programmes, master classes, focuses and tributes.
